Say G’day Day is a national movement inviting Australians to prioritise social connection as a vital part of good health. Held annually on 21 November, it aligns with the global celebration of World Hello Day, which has been recognised in over 180 countries since 1973.

At its heart, Say G’day Day is about one simple act: saying “G’day” to someone. Whether it’s a neighbour, a colleague, or a stranger at the bus stop, that moment of connection can make a real difference.

Why It Matters

In 2025, the World Health Organization released a landmark report revealing that 1 in 6 people worldwide are affected by loneliness, contributing to over 871,000 deaths annually. The report calls for urgent action, recognising social connection as a health priority, alongside physical and mental wellbeing.

Our Vision

We want Say G’day Day to become a national tradition, an annual reminder that connection starts with a hello, and that everyone in Australia deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued.

Inclusee is proud to inspire Australia’s response to the WHO’s call. We believe that social connection is not just a nicety – it’s a necessity. Through Say G’day Day, we’re building a grassroots movement that empowers individuals and organisations to take action in their own communities.

While we’re on the topic

Say G’Day Day isn’t just about breaking down loneliness, it’s also about dusting off one of the friendliest words in the Aussie dictionary and giving it the pride it deserves. For too long “G’Day” has been dragged out only for tourists or when we’re leaning hard into the cliché. But the truth is, “G’Day” is warm, welcoming, and disarmingly simple.

We want to use it without the cultural cringe, reminding Aussies that saying G’Day to your neighbour, your barista, or even the stranger at the bus stop isn’t daggy, it’s connection. And let’s be honest, if two syllables can make someone’s day a little brighter, why wouldn’t we be proud to use them?

In a country built on diversity and immigration, saying G’Day is how we welcome and celebrate every culture that calls Australia home. Whether you say Hello, Ngara, Kaya, Kia ora, Ni hao, Namaste, Salam, Kamusta, Xin chào, Ciao, Hola or G’day, every greeting matters.
